Maintenance & Care

Sunbrella

One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella fabrics looking good and to delay deep or vigorous cleanings is to properly maintain the fabrics. This can be accomplished by simply brushing off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, wiping up spills as soon as they occur or spot cleaning soon after stains occur.

Keep Your Cushions Fresh

Regular cleaning helps prevent mold and mildew, which can form on dirt and debris. Wipe down cushions weekly, especially after exposure to sunscreen, lotions, or natural oils, which can transfer to fabrics.

Applying 303 Fabric Guard™

303 should be applied to Sunbrella fabrics after each thorough cleaning, which typically removes the original finish and reduces the fabric's water repellency.

Metal, Resin Wicker
& Marine-Grade Polymer (MGP)

  • Clean with mild soap and water using a sponge or soft brush.
  • Rinse with a hose and allow to air dry.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.

Textilene Rope Frames

  • Use mild soap and water to clean.
  • Avoid oil-based cleaners or protectants, as they can break down the material over time.
  • Rinse thoroughly and let air dry.

Teak Wood Maintenance

  • Teak naturally ages to a beautiful silvery patina, but maintenance is key if you prefer the golden hue.
  • Barlow Tyrie Teak Cleaner removes dirt and restores its natural color.
  • Barlow Tyrie Teak Color Guard protects against UV fading and keeps the golden-brown tone.
  • Barlow Tyrie Teak Stain Guard helps prevent stains from food, wine, and oil spills.
